the centre of the Estate stands Villa Il Corno, a typical Renaissance building; of the former magnificent castle only the embattled tower remains, overlooking with elegance all the valleys around. It is with thanks that the present owners look back as today it is the original genetic heritage found in the wines and olive oils that makes the Tenuta Il Corno so revered and from which, year after year come some of the finest wines and oils in the region.

One of Val di Pesa best Estates, was built by an ancient Florentine family, "Del Corno", in 12th Century, who dedicated themselves with such diligence and love in enhancing the country environment, that they left us a real "agronomical park".

During these one thousand years, within the Estate, were selected some of the most interesting and typical Tuscan varieties of grapes, for instance "Colorino del Corno" and of olive trees ("Leccino del Corno"), developing characteristics we can find only in this property.

Thanks to all this, nowadays we can count on really original genetic heritage, from which are produced excellent wines and oils.

In 1523 the Estate became part of the family properties of family Strozzi and thank to the neighbourhood with Florence, capital town of the "Granducato di Toscana" and the startling Chianti shire rim, became their summer house, growing in fame.

Since 1911 owners are the Counts Froca Arroni from Arrone, who kept developing with love and determination oil and wine production activities joining high technology in production to a particular attention to tradition and typical marks of the region.

The Estate develops it self for about 210 hectares, 80 of which for vineyards and 10.000 olive trees.

In the centre of the Estate stands the Il Corno VIlla, a typical Renaissance building; of the former magnificent castle we have left only the embattled tower, overlooking with elegance all the valleys around.

At Il Corno you are awaited by sweet Florentine hills , dotted with olive trees and vineyards, woods and countryside with 17th Century villas and farm-houses, all with the taste of nearly pressed olive oil, must and of a simple diligence , where you may fancy hand- and horse - carts still coming out from corners. You can walk, visit the surroundings areas rich in nature, history, tradition, good food ,but also craftsmanship and art.

All this in a structure where 10 apartments and 6 room, furnished with elegance and care, regaining ancient pieces of furniture and joining together tradition and simplicity, where it is possible to relax near the two swimming pools completely dived into green , to organize meetings and conventions in dedicated spaces or to have a lunch in the Estate's restaurant.

Here, in a comfortable and warm atmosphere, it is possible to taste the wines of Il Corno, matching with courses of Tuscan and not tradition, prepared with excellent basis, often grown or kept in the Estate itself.

With short trips , you may reach open air museums like Florence, Siena, Pisa and Lucca, go around monuments, palaces, churches, bell-towers, paintings and statues, pushing on to Volterra to discover ancient history, together with Etruscan people. Who chooses nature there is wild sea of Castiglioncello or fashionable Versilia's strands, Apuane peaks or cool woods in Abetone.
